Need more clarity on the ESF scale of a scholar level while booking the course. I booked golden as there were no clarity how should I estimate the level of my kids. When we arrived we could change to the snowflake, which was easy, but still made some confusion.

Subscribing to a bronze medal course for 13 year old. Process was very chaotic during subscription - no standard option - and also on arrival. In the end lessons were very well done by Nils and we are satisfied overall.

Very bad location, as disconnected from main ski area, but rest was very good.

There was no security or checks when I collected my child, it felt very unsafe. No adult came to ask who I was there for, no adults said goodbye to my child. She was lost, lonely and upset at pick up and was traumatised to the point of not wanting to attend any further sessions. Furthermore, the snacks she had taken were still complete in her pockets, so at 3 years old she had been outside in the cold, skiing and not had anything to eat for 2 hours. She was exhausted. She clearly hadn’t been looked after well or taken care of. I would advise other parents not to book their little ones on to these sessions and I will not be booking again. I am extremely disappointed in what claims to be a world-leading ski school.

General Manager ESF COURCHEVEL 1850
Dear Mrs Merrett, Thank you for sharing your concerns, and we are truly sorry to hear about your child’s experience. The safety and well-being of our youngest skiers are our top priorities, and we take all feedback very seriously. At pick-up time, children are located in a secure, enclosed area with closed gates. Parents are not permitted to enter the snow front directly; instead, each instructor personally hands over every child to their parent, removes their dossard, and provides an opportunity for parents to speak with both the instructor and their child. We are surprised by your comment, as this procedure is designed to ensure both safety and clear communication. Regarding snacks, a dedicated break is systematically offered to all children. They are seated indoors or outdoors in the village and are individually provided with a snack and water. If your child still had her snack in her pocket, there are two possible reasons: she may have declined to eat during the break, or she may have asked for a second snack that she did not have time to finish. For your child’s group, we assigned two adults (one instructor and one assistant) to seven children, as we strive to provide the highest level of care and comfort for our youngest participants. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further and address any remaining concerns. Please feel free to contact us directly so we can better understand what happened and how we can improve. Thank you for your trust, and we hope to have the chance to restore your confidence in our ski school.

My daughters both had a good experience during their lessons. My youngest her daughter loved her instructor Buddy. He was kind and patient and was a wonderful fit for her personality. Both girls improved in their skills during the week, which was wonderful to see as a parent.

Nice teachers and both kids good progress. Unfortunately our 10 year old does not speak English well, so in communication there was some barrier. But she got her 2 stars. Very happy. Our son was not with right group first day (team rider) and was supported by other teacher, however they went off black piste on his first day. That was a bit too much for him. Next days were great. Thank you and hopefully until end of the year again.

It’s not the first time my kids join this ski school. Very happy with the service! The trainer was vey kind and helpful. I don’t know how he managed to remember all the names of the kids., there were a lot of them because of the New Year days. Thank you!

A great help with guiding my daughter to confidence on the French slopes. She started in two stars but the instructors were very good at detecting she needed a higher or lower level. They led her to feel comfortable enough to take the higher grade and encourage her to push her ability without knocking her confidence. Thank you so much we will use ESF again and hopefully my daughter will gain her bronze and you never know one day herself reach the top!
